Latest works by Reuben Miller
New works include portraits of contemporary Gedolim, scenes from modern Israel, and paintings exploring present-day Jewish life. These pieces join an expanding collection of rabbinic portraits and Jerusalem landscapes. Recent additions feature studies of daily life in Israel's cities and neighborhoods, alongside formal portraits that document today's Jewish leadership. I’ve always struggled with painting clouds, finding it incredibly challenging to define their shapes, edges, and tones while balancing the reality of a dramatic cloud formation with the expressive vision in my mind. There are so many elements at play, and without solid structural features to rely on as a point of reference, it’s easy to feel unmoored. After multiple attempts, I’m happy with how this piece turned out—it’s the first time I truly like the result. So, I’m sharing it here, and if someone connects with it enough, it’s available for purchase to bring joy to their home. ☁️

The idea behind it is the romanticizing of a destination, a dream like place of hope and peace.
