Murray's Sturgeon Shop Delicatessen

52x68”
Acrylic Paint
Cotton Canvas

The kosher delicatessen was an icon of New York City. Over time, they slowly closed down. This painting captures the nostalgia of a bygone era - before Uber and subscription boxes - where you walked into a small family-owned shop to buy fresh meat and deli products with a personal touch.

The Murray's Sturgeon Shop painting represents the quintessential deli shop with all the charm of a good old-fashioned kosher deli.

This large-scale acrylic painting was stretched to fit a handmade pine wood stretcher, custom-built by the artist. Only four pigments (cyan blue, magenta, yellow and black) were combined with transparent and opaque acrylic medium to represent the multitude of colors in this scene.
