Rabbi Chaim Zanvil Abramowitz, known as the Ribnitzer Rebbe (1902-1995), was a revered Hasidic leader from Rybnitsa, Moldova. He was renowned for his holiness, ascetic practices, and the miracles attributed to his blessings. Under Soviet oppression, he secretly led his community, performing mitzvos with fearless dedication. Stories of his mesirus nefesh include immersing in ice-cold rivers 310 times daily in winter, reflecting his extraordinary spiritual commitment. After leaving the USSR, he moved to Israel and then the U.S., where he continued to inspire thousands with his tzidkus and acts of kindness. His legacy endures through tales of his miracles and devotion to Yidishkeit.
